The Town of Deer Lake is located at the intersection of the Trans Canada Highway and the Viking Trail on Newfoundland and Labrador’s west coast. It derives its name from caribou which crossed the lake during their natural movement from north to south.

 

Deer Lake has grown to become a regional service and transportation hub offering, shopping, restaurants, banking, medical and recreational services.  Deer Lake Regional Airport, which serves a large area of the island, is the fourth busiest in Atlantic Canada.
